Dr. Philippe Hennet

Co-founder and Past President of the French Veterinary Dental Group (GEROS/AFVAC), the European Veterinary Dental Society (EVDS), and the European Veterinary Dental College

Dr. Philippe Hennet is a distinguished veterinarian specializing in veterinary dentistry and oromaxillofacial surgery. He graduated from the National Veterinary School of Toulouse, France, in 1988. Following two years in general small animal practice, he completed a residency in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, USA, from 1990 to 1992. He became a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC) in 1993 and of the European Veterinary Dental College (EVDC) in 1998.

Dr. Hennet has held part-time lecturer and clinical assistant positions in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery at the veterinary schools in Lyon and Paris until 2005. He is a co-founder of the French Veterinary Dental Group (GEROS/AFVAC), the European Veterinary Dental Society (EVDS), and the European Veterinary Dental College (EVDC), having served as president for each organization.

Currently, Dr. Hennet leads the Dentistry and Oromaxillofacial Surgery Unit at ADVETIA Veterinary Referral Hospital in Vélizy-Villacoublay, France. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in both English and French, contributing significantly to the field of veterinary dentistry. His main clinical interests include feline stomatitis and maxillofacial surgery.

Throughout his career, Dr. Hennet has been recognized for his contributions to veterinary dentistry, including receiving the AVDS Education and Research Award in 2012 for his efforts in advancing veterinary dental knowledge.
