Dr. Shangzhe is a board-certified specialist in avian practice, as well as a highly qualified veterinary professional with a strong background in exotic animal care and conservation medicine.
He earned his veterinary degree and Master's in Conservation Medicine from Murdoch University, followed by a PhD at the University of Adelaide, where he studied the physiology of heat stress in Australian desert birds. Additionally, he is an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Adelaide's School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Avian Practice and a Diplomate of the Asian College of Conservation Medicine, Dr. Shangzhe is recognized for his expertise in avian, zoo and wildlife health.
His diverse career includes roles in various exotic pet practices worldwide, giving him extensive experience in the care of a wide range of species.
Currently, Dr. Shangzhe serves as the Vice President of Veterinary Healthcare at Mandai Wildlife Group, where he oversees veterinary operations and healthcare initiatives for wildlife conservation. His work focuses on improving animal health and welfare in a variety of settings, from wildlife sanctuaries to conservation projects.
With his deep knowledge of both veterinary practice and conservation medicine, Dr. Shangzhe is committed to advancing the health and well-being of wildlife, while also contributing to the education and development of the next generation of veterinary professionals.
