Gina qualified as a veterinary nurse in Northern Ireland in 2008 before earning her Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing from Myerscough College in 2010. Gina joined the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals as Senior Medicine Nurse in 2011 and found her passion in teaching.
In 2015, Gina received the BSAVA Nurse Abstract Award for her work on complications associated with intravenous catheter placement. She was promoted to Head Medicine Nurse at the Royal Veterinary College hospital in 2016. Demonstrating her commitment to teaching, Gina completed a postgraduate certificate in veterinary education in 2019 and then a postgraduate diploma in 2022. Gina is currently studying for a master’s in veterinary education.
Gina currently leads a team of 24 medicine nurses at the QMHA and is a teaching fellow in medical nursing for the RVC. With a special interest in nursing endocrine patients and infection control, Gina has become a respected figure in veterinary nursing. She actively contributes to the education and development of veterinary professionals through her lectures and training sessions.
